Ben & Stefani Engagement

Sometimes plans change last minute and there is almost always beauty in that in and of itself. We had planned to do this session at Redcliffe Plantation just outside of Augusta but switched last minute to traveling to Washington, GA where this amazing couple will be getting married. They were in town visiting from Colorado since they have family in Washington and they are looking at different vendors and options for the wedding day to plan as well. They would only be here for a short time and to make it work for them, we switched up and went out to meet them at Chantilly Plantation on the edge of town. It was such a beautiful property and we had never been there before. We started by walking out a little ways on the property to the barn in the first picture below and they mentioned a vulture was stuck in one of the stalls which we can honestly say was a first for an engagement session. We looked to see if it was actually stuck without getting too close and it eventually flew out and it turned out that it wasn’t stuck at all. So, that was a fun learning experience and we all laughed and started the session. As soon as we took a few by the barn, we walked to the right of it just a little and found this little field that was perfectly lit for some bright and airy goodness. I am not sure why but everything almost seemed like it was especially green this day and every corner of the property was easy to photograph so as soon as we rounded another corner of trees there was this beautiful tree in the middle of the field with some blooms on it. Naturally, we made our way there and took advantage for some of what may be my favorites from the session. We then made our way to the next location which is the infamous Robert Toombs House in the middle of town for a few shots next to the brick wall that is covered with ivy on one side and used that as a good outfit changing point in the session. Once they changed quickly, we used the more ivy covered side of the wall and I switched lenses to fit in the tighter area for the rest of the session. We used the front of the building and the wall that you drive by to pull into the property to end out the session and just enjoyed talking about wedding planning and family to end out the session. It was pretty much a perfect session and we absolutely loved spending the day visiting family and hanging out with them there in Washington. We absolutely cannot wait for their wedding day in October this year!
