Humberto & Teresa

We cannot say enough about Humberto and Teresa. Having met them for our meeting, at Andrew and Alyssa’s wedding day and at an expo we were invited to at Padgett’s Farm. We had face time and knew it would be an amazing wedding but, we didn’t know how amazing.

Even working with their coordinator, Emily, was an absolute joy from the beginning and she was thorough the whole time. We got to meet her face to face for the first time at the beginning of the wedding day at Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown, GA. It started similar to a lot of wedding days where we get to say hey to the Bride and her Bridesmaids while also grabbing any details that we needed to photograph that were already there. Tom and I split off from there to do some photos of the girls getting ready and other details and before too long, it was time for Teresa to finish the last little bit of her dress so we got her Mom to finish it up for her in front of the mirror and it was so sweet. They made a few jokes and then I had her Dad, Felipe, get in place for their first look and mic’d him up as well. Once she was ready and in place, her turned around and they shared such a sweet moment and I believe that it took him a few minutes before it really all hit him during their hug but, the moment was just so beautiful and we weren’t even about to split that up. From here we met up with the guys for a little bit and Alyssa brought a gift for Humberto to open after watching a video and he loved it! From here we had very little time left but took Humberto upstairs for their first touch for a last moment before becoming Husband and Wife.

Now it was time for the Ceremony to begin which would be a full hour mass beautifully done by a priest who had known Teresa since she was little and made it even more meaningful accompanied by one the most beautiful voices and Piano accompaniment by Kimberly Lies. Humberto and his Mom who he hadn’t been able to see for a long time due to restrictions out of the country got to walk down the aisle together which was so special. We know that has to be a moment they will all hold dear for years to come and then all of their wedding party came down the aisle as well (there were 11 on each side so we left them out of this post for the length of the post but they all looked amazing!) Once the flower girl came down and it was time for the Bride to walk the aisle, the doors opened and Humberto and his Mom both held back tears for a minute before losing it and it made for such a beautiful moment that we all loved being a part of. Once she had made her way down the aisle and her parents handed her off, the rest of the ceremony took place with one extra special touch that we were taken back by on the part of the priest where he gave the couple a very special gift that he was given and had been blessed by three different Popes, John Paul 2, Pope Benedict XVI and Francis. He said he held on to it to give to Teresa because she asked him to come do her quinceañera and something happened to come up and he was unable to attend. It was also special to him because 50 years ago on the very day of their wedding his dad was baptized, confirmed and married his mother on that day which is why he was where he was today so their marriage is super close to his heart and we had never seen anything like that. They also prayed, exchanged vows and even took communion with their attendees. Once they finished everything else in the ceremony, they got to finally share their first kiss as husband and wife and make their way back up the aisle together as Mr. and Mrs. Garduño! At this point, we grabbed a little bit of our equipment and made our way for some quick family photos at the altar before we had to get out for the next mass that was happening. Once we finished those we went outside of the church for the rest of the family photos then it was time for everyone to make their way to Padgett’s Farm in Waynesboro, GA for the reception which was about a 45 minute drive.

Once the wedding party arrived we did their group photos by the water there and some of the newlyweds as well and eventually we went over the bridge to the other side and fog started to roll in as it got a little bit darker and it made for some really cool looking photos that we absolutely love. As it started getting dark and we finished up all of the photos and video wanted, we all drove up to the reception where cocktail hour was finishing up as well as the mariachi band. They also had a bouncy house out for the kids leading up to the DJ announcing the wedding party into the reception tent which was really cool and they seemed to love that up until the rain became too much. Once Teresa had her dress bustle finished, they made their way through the Barn where a lot of the details were and overflow for a lot of guests as well as all of the food and extra bar. Once they were announced into the reception, they went straight into their beautiful first dance where at one point Humberto picked up Teresa from behind and spun like a slow motion moment in a movie (which it will be later technically). They also had the Father Daughter and Mother Son dances which were so sweet and we could tell they were so proud of their children. The couple then shared a quick speech and there was a prayer before everyone being dismissed to go through the line for their Dinner provided by Berry’s Catering who did an amazing job. Once everyone finished eating, it was time for the toasts by the Maid of Honor, Moriah and Best Man, Andrew. They shared some sweet moments and heartfelt speeches as well as downright funny moments. Teresa’s Mom and Dad ended off the toasts with a warm thank you and congratulations before getting all of the single ladies out on the floor for the bouquet toss and then single men for the garter which officially set off the party where DJ Pippe from DJ Louie Productions did an absolutely phenomenal job of setting the party into motion and everyone was dancing every chance they had. We eventually came to a moment that we absolutely loved watching and laughed so much which was La Vibora de La Mar where the newlyweds are lifted up on chairs and the guests hold hands to make a chain and dance/pass through the arch formation trying not to break formation on their part or the wedding party who is holding up the couple. Once the guys all got a turn, it was so funny and Humberto even grabbed a hat as if he were Bull Riding. The guys eventually broke the formation and they all threw Humberto in the air as a big close to that special dance. A little later we made our way over to the barn for the Cake cutting which made for a quick breather before heading right back into the party. The girls had a surprise planned for Humberto and had to change so they disappeared for a minute and then came through another part of the tent behind the dj after Humberto was seated on the dance floor not knowing exactly what was coming. They then burst out into the song with a choreographed dance and a large popper going off behind them to go with the big reveal. Needless to say, Bert was super surprised and loved every minute. They then went into the Money Dance where everyone forms a line to dance with one of the newlyweds and pins money to them to buy the dance and this was a hit that everyone loves. The dance floor then opened up again for a while and stayed full the entire time and eventually ended up with a Conga Line and then we got to set up for their fake sendoff. Being that it was raining, we switched modes into everyone throwing pretend snow inside the tent and fit everyone that we could into the line which we loved and even had some of the guests help us as a plan so we didn’t run into a support beam as we backed down the line. The couple got absolutely covered with the snow and had so much joy on their faces that we knew it was the perfect way to end the night. Being that this wedding day happened shortly before Christmas, this has taken just a little bit longer to post but, I even got to meet up with them again for a quick Christmas session the week after at one of our favorite Christmas tree farms and even got to meet their adorable Pitty, Chapo. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this wonderful couple and what adventures life will bring their way. Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Garduño!

Mike & Lydia

We had the honor of meeting via Zoom with Mike and Lydia back in January of this year to talk about their wedding day. We made plans for the live stream and everything they needed for the wedding day at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.

On the wedding day, we got to show up and say hey then get ready for the ceremony quickly before getting into our places. Being the times that we live in, there weren’t many people attending so we got set up a live stream for the family and it’s always fun to host and make sure everyone hears everything during the ceremony. Once everyone was lined up and ready, the ceremony started with the groom coming out with the priest from behind the altar and everyone else came down the aisle. Once Lydia made her way out of the room that she was waiting in, Mike had a big smile on his face. We could tell how happy they were but our biggest impression was just how sweet of a couple these two are! Once they made it hand it hand at the altar, there were a few readings, blessings, prayers and they also did communion before finishing off the ceremony with a joyous kiss. After the kiss, they made their way back up the aisle together as husband and wife along with the rest of the bridal party and family. Everyone had made it back and so we actually turned right back around and went to the altar to do some family and bridal party photos briefly as well as a few with the newly weds. Once we finished all of those, we went up stairs where Morgan had been for the ceremony to use the big stained glass windows up there for a few couples portraits and then broke off to meet them at the spot where he proposed which was at the Savannah Rapids Park on the dock (you probably know the spot). It was so great because during the original meeting, we heard about him getting breakfast for them and they watched the sun rise while sitting on this dock together and he proposed there which just sounds so beautiful and perfect. Even more perfect is that now they have photos on their wedding day there as well which turned out beautifully. What better spot to end off our short day with them. Since there was no formal exit for us to photograph, we took a few as they crossed the bridge heading back to our cars so they could go to their intimate reception together which somewhat felt like a good exit and wrap up for this blog. We congratulated them again and we all went our separate ways but, of course no good story ends there! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this power couple!

Nathan & Rebecca

This wedding day was at one of the more beautiful churches in our area, Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church which is in Grovetown, Ga. Their sweet little girl, Laura, is pictured throughout the day just as happy as can be. In fact, this wedding day was just full of all of the adorable babies which made for so many cute moments. The reception was held at the Augusta Marriott in Downtown Augusta right on the Savannah River. Throughout the day you see the work of many of the wonderful vendors like the flowers from Florologie, the dress from David’s Bridal, the cake by Dianna Hall and many more!

This day started as most do, in the upstairs bridal suite at Saint Teresa of Avila with the girls to photograph some details and the girls getting their final touches. Once everyone was dressed and the Mother of the Bride finished the last few buttons on the back of her daughter’s wedding dress, we made our way downstairs to photograph all of the girls together. Being that it was a super bright and sunny day outside, we tried to keep everyone in the shade for most of the photos before sneaking them all back upstairs to hide during the Mass service that was taking place in the Sanctuary. We then did the same with the guys to keep it uniform before taking a few out in the courtyard. We dismissed the rest of the guys to go inside but then had one go and get baby Laura for Nathan so they could take a few photos together and they are some of our favorites from the day. She was so happy to see him and it made for an adorable moment that made us miss our little Logan even more! At that point, it was just time to wait and lineup for the ceremony so, we got Nathan mic’d up for the ceremony and got into our positions. Nathan carried Laura down the aisle with him so they could both wait to see the bride come down the aisle together. You can see in the photo that as soon as Laura her mommy coming down the aisle, she reached for her and Nathan was fighting back tears. The ceremony went perfectly and it is honestly just one of the most beautiful sanctuaries to have as a back drop for their wedding vows. Once they had completed their vows, blessings, communion and prayers (not in that order), they sealed the deal with a kiss and made their way back up the aisle hand in hand as husband and wife. We then transitioned into family formal photos and the full bridal party photos as well as just a few of the newly weds.

The reception at the Augusta Marriott was held in the Estes room so we made our way downtown and started photographing details there while we awaited the couple to arrive in the limo. Once they arrived and everyone was ready, the DJ announced them in to everyone cheering for the happy couple. They immediately went straight into their first dance which was accompanied by live acoustic music performed by the groom’s sister. Then the groom and his mother shared a dance before he also shared a dance with his daughter. During the father daughter dance, Laura got to enjoy some snacks which made for a pretty funny dance. After a little time passed, it was then time for the toasts. You can see the groom’s brother sharing a sweet speech for the happy couple which kicked off the dance floor opening, then the cake cutting and into the maid of honor’s touching speech. Before more dancing took place though, we setup the bouquet toss and garter toss. The garter toss ended up with a few of the guys landing on the ground which was hilarious. The dance floor then opened back up with some slow dancing for couples to enjoy among many other fun dances. The night ended with a perfect sparkler send off behind the Marriott on the River Walk. They got the good sparklers so we even made another run through going back with them all still lit and so we got to say goodbye to the newly weds and wish them a happy honeymoon. We’re so excited for this happy family and look forward to seeing Laura grow up as well as whatever else life may bring to the Christe family!

David & Lindsay

As we often do here lately, we met with this sweet couple and the bride’s family a while ago via Zoom. It was very easy to tell that we would enjoy this couple and that Lindsay laughed so much and it was contagious! We had the joy of photographing their engagement session which you can see here. Also recently, we did her bridal session which you can see in the photos at the reception.

Their wedding day started as most weddings where we show up and say hey and then start on details asap. This was actually the first where we brought a little styling board to use for some details which worked out nicely with their colors. Once we finished the details, we did a little bit of the getting ready for the girls and then went to photograph the guys on the other side of the church. A few swedish fish to help Lachlan enjoy the photos even more and we were done quickly then headed back to get Lindsay’s mom helping her with the last few dress details. Once she was all ready, we got her dad to come in for a first look in the same spot that her sisters did and it turned out beautifully! He said it was such a bittersweet moment because it’s his last daughter getting married but he was so happy and proud of her. Then we did a few photos with the girls in front of the church just before they all had to get lined up for the ceremony. The ceremony required us to stay further back which is common in Catholic churches but that’s no problem at all. You can see Morgan had a spot to get on the floor level and I was up on the balcony capturing everyone once they were passing her. Once they both were down the aisle together and all smiles, they said their vows and prayed before getting to kiss and make their way back up the aisle as husband and wife. Once everyone made it up the aisle and the guests were dismissed, we went back to the front for family formals and bridal party photos. We also took a few of the couple here just before heading to the reception.

Once we arrived at the Marbury Center, we quickly hopped into action and photographed details and the inside of the location. Then once the couple showed up, we confirmed details with them and made sure everything was set for entering until we realized we were two groomsmen short but there was no need to fear for they showed up rather promptly after. The couple even shared a short practice dance outside which was such a cute moment. Once the guys arrived, everyone lined up and the dj announced everyone in. Once everyone had danced their way in, the couple came in and went straight into their first dance. Lindsay of course laughing and David of course making her laugh, made for an adorable first dance. Next Lindsay’s father came out for the father-daughter dance which then transitioned into everyone eating and the dance floor opening. Once the dance floor opened, we got to see a moment for one of Lindsay’s sisters watching her husband dance with their daughter while all of the couples slow danced and it was just beautiful to watch take place. The dancing slowed down just a little and it was time to cut the cake so, we all made our way over to get ready and David and Lindsay cut the cake and fed each other. The dance floors then opened back up for a bit and then they did probably one of our favorites parts of the day which was the Dollar Dance which is where you can pay a dollar (or however much you want) by giving to her sister in this case to put in an apron and that allows you a spin with the bride to polka music. In this case, she spun you off to the other side where you could take a shot which made for any even funnier event. This went on for quite a while and we watched Lindsay’s niece and nephew hop back in line (someone was paying their way I am pretty sure) countless times and tiring out the bride. Once everyone had their share of spins, we setup the bouquet toss and garter toss. Then everyone danced a little more and we setup the sparkler exit out front. It was a fake exit so once they joyfully made their way through the row of sparklers, they walked towards their car a little bit then came back to enjoy conversation with their closest friends and family. It was at this point that we got ready to leave but took a few more photos of the kids playing with the last bit of their sparkler in the courtyard out back and then said our goodbyes to the family. We are so excited for the great things this couple has ahead of them and hope to hear some more of Lindsay’s singing sooner than later!
