Patrick & Michelle Destination Wedding

Here is a great example of what to do when your wedding day has to change due to a pandemic! They had their closest friends and family go to Saint Simons for a gorgeous destination wedding and will have their full wedding day and party with more guests next year as they had originally intended and it’s what dreams are made of!

We drove down the night before and stayed in a hotel to wake up early and go to the King and Prince Resort where Michelle was getting ready on site in the Wesley Cottage. We were there for the last few touches and then she hopped into her dress to go meet her soon to be groom for their first look on the beach. It was just down the sidewalk so we made our way over and I (Jordan) ran ahead to get Patrick in place on the beach without them seeing each other. Once we all got out there, we set them up and let them have their moment of seeing each other for the first time all dressed up for the wedding and it was so cute. Not to mention it was gorgeous beach surrounding them which made our job a lot easier. Once they let us know they were ready to take some of their couples photos, we hopped straight into a few poses and some fun ideas that we had talked about beforehand. We explored a few more ideas for photos on the way to the venue and then got them back inside to cool off before the ceremony started.

The ceremony music starts and everyone walks the aisle to beautiful worship music and ocean waves in the background. Then the bride walks out and everyone stands to see her and the groom’s father walking from a different different door and making their way to the aisle. Patrick had a huge smile on his face watching his bride come down the aisle and once they were their, both of their mothers read scripture out loud followed by a few words and then the symbolic pouring of sand into a vase that they would keep as a reminder of God’s place in their marriage. They then exchanged their vows and rings surrounded by palm trees and their loved ones tying the knot and the sealing it with a kiss. They were finally announced as husband and wife and made their way back up the aisle hand in hand to go straight over into their first dance with everyone surrounding them. We have to admit that not enough first dances are done with the beach in the background. As they finished up their beautiful dance, everyone cheered and we hopped straight into photos with everyone and everyone had fun with it and we finished up fairly quickly and let everyone else go back inside to cool off as we ran all around the resort with Patrick and Michelle to take some more photos before we left to drive back home. There is no shortage of gorgeous areas in the resort to take photos and we had so much fun running around with them. We ended our time with them by having them repeat their dance one more time in this stunning room full of symmetry and gorgeous columns on both sides of them. After they did their last dip kiss, we headed out for them to go to their reception back at the Wesley Cottage where the day started and we congratulated them and started our drive back home. We are so excited for this happy couple and to see what their marriage and ministries will produce in the future. Not to mention part 2 of the wedding next year!

Matt & Mackenzie

Matt and Mackenzie literally had a perfect wedding day that fit their joyful fun-loving personality and just some gorgeous details too! To start, Mackenzie loves leopard print and it shows. She had leopard print shoes and her outfit for getting ready was entirely leopard print and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! We had never gotten to photograph a wedding in Macon but are super happy that this destination wedding was our first! The couple is actually from Savannah but hopped on I-16 to head over and tie the knot! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and has just about everything you could ask for in a venue but is also in one of the most unassuming spots in downtown Macon.

Starting the wedding over in the bridal suite where all the girls were getting ready, we got to say hey and meet all of Mackenzie’s girls before starting on details which we did quickly take to the courtyard area where the ceremony would be held to be sure that we could get as much done out of sight of the groom showing up. Before too long the guys were showing up and getting ready so we brought the girls out with their mimosas before they were in their dresses completely ready and snapped a few photos. Once the guys were a little more ready, we snuck in to have Matt read a card from Mackenzie for the video and then took all of the guys outside for their photos as well. Things got goofy really quick and we discovered the groom’s favorite band is actually the Allman Brothers Band (you will see his socks had their logo and also later you will see a representative from “The Big House” which is the band’s museum that brought them some trinkets).

Later on, as the courtyard filled with their friends and family, Tee Smith started playing music on the keyboard and that would start the processional. She made her way around the courtyard fountain and he just smiled from ear to ear. They started the ceremony and everything went perfectly until they went to light the unity candle and the wind kept blowing it out but everyone had a good laugh and it eventually lit. They said their vows, tied the knot and made their way back up the aisle to the tune of “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” as performed by Tee and Tee Jr. in a very amazingly theatrical performance. We then turned into family formal mode and then bridal party. Once we finished the formals, we got to whisk them away for a bit for the romantic photos and we had a great time with them. Fast forward a little bit and we headed in with their entrance and the toasts right away. Just a little bit later they had their magical first dance and the mother son/father daughter dances before breaking into party mode (which the dj was just absolutely amazing. Everyone danced into the night (especially the father of the bride). We ended the night not with a typical exit, but just a romantic last few photos under the outdoor lights and them walking out as just the two of them and saying our goodbyes.

Danni & Alison

8-3-2019

We got to meet Danni, Alison and Tye (their wedding planner) what feels like ages ago through a facetime type call and got to know them since they would be planning from Maryland. As time went on we kept in touch and talked a lot with Tye and planned their engagement session that we posted earlier this year and got to see their eyes light up talking about how God brought them together and how excited they were for the big day to come!

Fast forward to the wedding day and we set off early from Augusta with our third shooter Tom to be sure to arrive early at the venue and oh boy, just look at this venue.. We were shocked when we drove to Douglasville Ga and got out of the car to see this amazing property.

We started off the day by checking out some of the decor that featured photos from the engagement session, getting some venue photos and then drove to the bride to bride to get the getting ready shots. Her hair was already finished, pulled back in an elegant bun which had been done at another location earlier. The makeup artist was a wiz and a pleasure to work with.

Back at the venue after all the girls had their beautiful dresses on, we captured the sweet moment of Danni and Alison exchanging their love before the ceremony as they held each others hand from behind a door to the bridal suit. I couldn’t help but get a little misty eyed seeing the pure joy on their faces as they spoke to one another.

The ceremony was a hot one…. but oh so beautiful. Did I mention that view?? Many family members went up to sing, and although we couldn’t understand much of anything being said, you could tell the overwhelming love the family has for this couple.

The reception brought some much needed cool air and the amazing smell of the food wafting from the kitchen. As the guest dined on the appetizers, we were able to capture some of the bridal party and romantic shots.

The cake cutting and bouquet toss were very sweet and most of the family was involved with both. It’s just so wonderful to see a couple being supported by so many people.

They opted for an elegant sparkler exit and I think the photos do the beauty of it justice. (If I do say so myself)

Here’s to a bright and blessed future to the new Mr. and Mrs. Andrade.
