Hunter & Kaitlin

Hunter & Kaitlin, as well as their families, first and foremost have such kind souls and we absolutely loved this wedding day as well as the Bridal Session about a month ago which proved to be very fruitful in beautiful images and was also just a lot of fun with her Mom and MOH. That laid some of the groundwork for the wedding day to where everything just clicked felt way better than it would have without a previous session. The wedding day itself took place at the beautiful Pine Knoll Farms in Appling, GA on a mostly beautiful Fall weather day besides just a little bit of rain here and there but nothing interfering with the happenings of the day.

When we showed up, we got to say hey to the girls and gather details as well as introduce Bella as well who is on our team and was standing in place of Morgan since our due date for Levi was coming up soon (it actually ended up being just a few days later so that was a good call). Once we finished photographing all of the details in the newly added area downstairs from the Bridal Sweet that used to just be an open air porch and now has become a closed in room with some beautiful finishings, we did a few photos of the girls in their robes before I split off to go say hey to the guys while Bella stayed with the girls. The guys were a great group with a good sense humor and Hunter is super easy going so we got everything done pretty quickly besides getting the boutonnieres brought on a golf cart so we could get them all pinned. Then Once everyone was pinned, we made our way outside and did all the group photos for the guys as well as a few solo shots of Hunter right as it started to rain a little bit so we split off and I made my way back to the other side with the girls to start setting up first looks with her Dad, Step Dad and Brother which were all so sweet. We may or may not have shed some tears of our own with her little Brother’s reaction. From there, we also did an unexpected first look with her Grandparents which was super sweet and you could see how much they love Kaitlin.

Before long, it was ceremony time so we made our way over to get ready and take photos of the guests coming in as well. Hunter held it together pretty well, there may have been a little bit of eye watering but mostly just super joyful when he saw his Bride coming down the aisle. Once they had said their I do’s led by an Uncle who did a fantastic job, they sealed it with a kiss and made their way up the aisle as the Huttos and rang the bell. Once everyone was out, it was then time to do family photos which we started to do outside but then it rained a little bit so we had to move everyone inside unexpectedly (weather forecast lied) but it worked out well anyways so people could sit some too. We then got did all of the group photos and dismissed everyone to do some couple’s photos and then actually finished ahead of time and made our way to the reception. Bella and I then ran into the reception to get settings and lights setup really quick and they came right into the reception with the cheers of all of their loved ones. Once they were in, they did their first dance, the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances and basically a bunch of people cried so it was all super sweet and then the dance floor opened up for a while. Throughout the night they also did some beautiful toasts, the shoe game but with a twist where guests had to guess who they thought before the couple lifted their shoe, cut the cake, threw the bouquet and garter then ended the festivities of the night with a sparkler exit which turned out perfectly. We seriously loved being a part of this couple’s story and big day! They are already doing amazing things but, we’re excited to see what this power couple’s future holds!

Jamie & Amber

We had the joy of photographing this sweet couple’s engagement session last Fall which you can see here. That session was at the venue as well as the Bridal session we did more recently for Amber as well which we will hopefully share here soon as well. Enough about that though, this beautiful day took place at Vows & Venue in Harlem, Ga with an amazing team of vendors and the sweetest couple with the sweetest family and friends surrounding them as well.

The day itself was full of a ton of beautiful moments with a bunch of matching pj’s with the girls and babies all over the place which is the way to our heart already. Once we finished details and some photos for the girls in the pjs, it was time for Amber to hop into her dress and at the same time, our third shooter Tom was also with the guys and we made sure to say hey while the girls were all getting dressed as well as photographing and filming some of the venue space. Amber was finished getting into her beautiful dress so we setup for the first looks with her girls, her Dad and then her Brother which all three had such completely different emotions but they were all beautiful and special. Before we knew it, it was time for them to tie the knot so we made our way out and setup everything we needed and mic’d Jamie up. The joy was all over Jamie when he saw his Bride. It was a beautiful ceremony with a gorgeous field as the backdrop as well as the arbor that Jamie built giving such a nice personal touch which we took advantage of as soon as they said their I do’s and sealed it all with a kiss. We started with family photos and then wedding party photos then ended with just the two newly weds first at the arbor then out into the field behind.

Then it was reception time and guests were finishing up enjoying cocktail hour and some of the photobooth from our friends at Southeastern exposure just outside of the barn. It started with a roaring crowd cheering the entire wedding party and Bride and Groom into their first dance as well as the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances. From there we did the cake cutting and they enjoyed their first custom mixed drink really quick after but from there, we start to really get some plot twists into the mix. They did the bouquet and garter tosses and danced a little, then all of the sudden a table is pulled into the middle of the dance floor for a wedding party edition of flip cup where the girls got to enjoy a devastating victory of the guys. That was also followed up shortly by the shoe game and then a Bride and Groom dance off with cash prizes being thrown at them judged by the cheering of their loved ones. Then it was an open dance floor most of the rest of the night and some people retreated to keep score of the Georgia game that night while others were also enjoying some slow dancing as couples including the private dance for Jamie and Amber before the exit. Then they actually did a fake exit with all I can explain as streamer but also with a hint of like teepeeing the couple since you had to throw them a little but, they looked so cool and all stayed attached so it was a quick and easy clean up so 10/10 would recommend. Everyone then made their way back in slowly to the dance floor and one of the Jr. Bridesmaids gifted Jamie and Amber with the baseball from the game where Jamie proposed to Amber which was so special and Jamie legitimately looked shocked and they loved the gift which, outside of more dancing and cute baby stuff, was the last major event of the night for us so, as things were winding down, we hugged Amber and congratulated them again! They’re such a great couple and I know they have such a great future ahead of them and we’re super excited to see what lies ahead for them!

Daniel & Kylandra

This wedding day at Pine Knoll Farms in Appling, GA was such a beautifully intimate feeling wedding day even for having more people than you would normally consider an “intimate wedding”. Everyone there was basically family, even if not by blood and it showed how fun and loving this couple is just to see their relationships with everyone else.

We had the chance to meet in person with Daniel and Kylandra back in May of 2021 for their engagement session which you can see here. Seeing them surrounded by their best friends and family on the wedding day brought out so much joy in a ton of tiny little moments with a funny joke or excited hug and we were honored to be a part of every minute!

The wedding day started with us arriving and meeting up with our third shooter and then splitting off different directions for the guys and girls with Morgan and I (Jordan) going to the girls first to photograph and video details as well as the girls getting hair and makeup done. Once they got a little further into that process, I went to meet up with Tom and Daniel at the other end of the property while Morgan stayed with the girls. While on the way, I grabbed a few video clips and photos of the property as well and even got to meet the guardians of the property, two Great Pyrenees dogs that were just friendly and enjoying rolling around so all of the groomsmen could pet them. At this point we did all of the Groomsmen’s group photos with Daniel as well as some of Daniel by himself. I then made my way back to the girls as the guys went in to hang out for a while longer while Tom (our third shooter) and I made our way back to the girls. Once they started getting dressed, Tom went to photograph a few more photos with Daniel and some family that finished getting ready. Once everyone on the girls side finished getting dressed, we made our way outside to photograph the Bride and some of her family. Once we finished, she made her way back upstairs to watch the surprise fake first look with one of the groomsmen throwing on his wife’s wedding dress. It made for a hilarious moment and some fantastic photos which made for a perfect moment for everyone to split back up and finish any touch ups or quick changes to get ready for the ceremony.

We made our way to the ceremony to set up our extra camera and figure out all of the angles we were going to cover knowing that the bride was coming in on a horse and carriage. We also got to meet up with our dear friend Gordon who was the DJ and the Officiant, Nick, who we had worked with on another beautiful wedding day later last year. As all of the guests were finding their seats and we got Daniel’s Mic setup for us to pick up good audio for their videos that we would be filming, the ceremony started officially. Everyone walked down the aisle to the music and then the horse and carriage showed up right outside of the courtyard leading into the chapel. Once Daniel saw her, a big smile never left his face and you could see the excitement behind the smile. Once Kylandra made her way to her Husband and was handed off by her Step Father, Curtis, they entered into a beautiful ceremony moment of sharing their own personally written vows and exchanged rings to officially be announced as Husband and Wife and then share a kiss before walking back up the aisle as the Hyman’s with the joy of everyone present surrounding them in the form of clapping and yelling for them. The couple then both rode back to the reception area in the horse and carriage along with the rest of the family to meet up and do all of the family formal photos, full wedding party and then a few couples portraits. We had an amazing sunset to work with for photos by the chapel. We quickly got them back to the reception to eat and be with their guests and even though they were not being announced into the reception, everyone still clapped for them and cheered as they began to walk around and hug their guests.

During the reception, everyone ate delicious food, the newlyweds danced as well as a Father and Daughter dance, cut and ate cake from Hey Honey Cakery (who we absolutely love), then the dance floor opened for everyone. Once everyone got out on the dance floor, they stayed there for a while and a few gathered by the fire outside as well and everyone enjoyed their night in different ways that were amazing in different ways. Without doing a formal exit, we decided to end the night with some backlit photos and a quick night time ring shot knowing that Kylandra loved that type of photo and it felt like it fit perfectly as a sendoff for us to say goodbye. We know that this couple does amazing work and have exciting things ahead that we are excited to see how their story unfolds!

Dequan & Sherry

We had the absolute joy of meeting this couple in person for their engagement session at Rose Hill in Aiken which you can see here. By the end of that session, we loved this couple and their whole family by association already and were super excited for this wedding day. With some change of plans due to Covid and ease of travel for family, they landed on 2nd on York (aka Second Baptist Church in Aiken, SC) which could host the ceremony and reception easily.

Come wedding day, we met with some of the vendors and walked through the space since we had arrived early. We then went to say hey to the bride Sherry and all of her girls. We started how we typically do with gathering her details to photograph them quickly so we could get them all back to her. Once we finished that, the guys started to show up as well as our third shooter and so we gave her a rundown then I split off to go with the guys for a while. With the guys, we got to make a lot of fun jokes and hang out as well as grab a steamer from the girls to steam some shirts. With the girls, Sherry was having her hair done and they were making adorable tik-tok videos for the wedding day transformation. Once the guys had finished getting ready, we stepped out to the far side of the parking lot to attempt them having shade and greenery somewhat since we knew the bride loved greenery. It was super hot so, of course we made sure to be quick so the guys could go back in and snack on some fruit and water that the Father of the Bride had brought. As I met back up with the girls, the ceremony decor was finishing up as well as the band’s setup. So we captured a few moments there before the room filled up and before we knew it, the bride was finishing getting in her dress and then we made our way to prepare for the ceremony. Once everyone made their way down, the bride’s father (who is hilarious by the way) made a nice little walk half way down the aisle saying hey to everyone and then he stopped to wait for his little girl. She made her way around the corner and we could see Dequan holding himself together super well with the biggest smile on his face. Once she locked arms with her Dad, they walked the rest of the way together with her son on the other side. Now they were together at last at the altar and ready to tie the knot (literally in this case because they had a three strand knot to tie in the ceremony which represents themselves and God in their relationship.) They exchanged their vows and even took communion together before sealing the deal with a kiss. As they made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife, everyone in the entire building lit up with a smile. Everyone followed behind them to hide away in another room which is where they also signed the marriage certificate before doing a quick room reveal of the reception space. Once we finished that, we made our way over to Hopelands Gardens for all of the family, bridal party and a few couples photos. We quickly went down the list and added in a few and still managed to catch back up on the schedule pretty well. It was hot so, we were quick to get everyone back to the Air Conditioning.

Once we all met back up at the reception where everyone else had been enjoying some smaller snacks and the photobooth, we went into the reception space to prepare for their entrance together. I almost always switch to video at this point and Morgan switches to lead photographer during the reception and we’re able to divide and conquer pretty well. The newly weds were announced in and went straight into their first dance, followed by the Father-Daughter dance. Near the end of their song, all of the sudden you hear a record scratch noise and it switches to a very upbeat song and all of the sudden they are joined on the dance floor by the Groom and his Mother just laughing away and enjoying letting loose a little bit together. Once this was finished, everyone sat down to enjoy dinner for a bit and then it was time for the toasts and cake cutting. There were a few toasts/speeches made and a few even that were a surprise to the couple but they all gave genuine sweet speeches before opening the dance floor. After a little bit of dancing, we went into the bouquet and garter tosses which were hilarious seeing the contrast of multiple girls jumping and diving to catch it and then the guys watching it land on the floor and then go to grab it. Once all of that was done, the dance floor really opened up and the couple walked around to different tables and groups for photos and hugging everyone. As everyone danced the night away (I cannot wait for this wedding film for some of these dance moves) the couple headed to the photobooth to take photos together there and with family and friends. It was around then that we got to say bye and congratulate them again. As we were walking out, we had the honor of Dequan walking us to our car and talking some more about their honeymoon and reflecting on the day a little bit before he got pulled away by some more guests in the parking lot. We cannot stress enough how much we love what we do thanks to couples like these two that we feel we can call our friends and that lift us up with kindness. We are excited for the Durant’s and what the future holds for them, their family and their ministry!
