Austin & Rachael

Austin and Rachael are such a sweet couple and being a part of these moments was such a treasure for us. Not only do we love Ashton Cole Place and the vendor team but, getting to know the family and this couples heart even more made for a day that’s hard to not get attached to.

We actually started the day off by meeting up with my family for an early lunch in Thomson since they are from Washington, GA that’s just around 20 minutes away. After lunch, we made our way to the venue to meet up with Austin first and then say hey to all of the girls with Rachael and get started on details. We always love working with Mallory from Honeycomb Florals as well because she leaves us extra flowers to use for flat lays and things of that nature and basically any time we see her name, we know it’s going to be fun. Once we were finishing up with details, the girls were finishing up and so our third shooter also went with the guys as they were getting ready quickly. As Rachael finished up getting in her dress, Tom and I (Jordan) took Austin to prepare for the first look. Once we knew what angles we wanted, we gave the signal for Morgan to bring Rachael out as well. I cannot wait to share the video of this moment but, you can tell from the photos that it was an emotional and amazing first look and they also exchanged vows there. From there we went straight into the Father-Daughter first look and got him setup with a Mic as well. Here they shared sweet moment near the reception barn before everyone made their way to do some group photos before the ceremony. As guests began to arrive, we finished up quickly and then made our way to the ceremony to setup our other camera and get into position. It’s always fun to play with the dynamics in ceremony spaces but it typically works out to where our third shooter Tom is giving a secondary angle and getting the back of the dress as they pass him and then Morgan and I are at the front capturing everyone in both photo and video as they come down the aisle. Everyone made it into their places perfectly but, a special shout out to the ring bearer for making hilarious faces on the way as well. Now it was time for the Bride to come down the aisle and you could tell how excited and just flat out happy Austin was in that moment knowing that it was really happening. After Rachael’s Dad (Travis) handed her off and gave Austin a big hug, we all had the honor of experiencing a beautiful ceremony that was so graciously led by the officiant. Once they said their vows and sealed everything with a kiss, they made their way back up the aisle hand in hand as Mr. and Mrs. Mejias! We had them stop at the top of the aisle for a quick kiss (long story short, this is a version of one of our favorite photos from our wedding day so we like to do it for our couples). Then we knocked out some beautiful family photos and enjoyed joking with everyone before dismissing everyone to the reception or to meet up with the coordinator for their lineup as we whisked away for couples photos of the Newlyweds. It had rained a little so, we prioritized the beautiful garden areas that were a little more up hill and dry and we were already there so it worked to get a ton of gorgeous photos and get them to their reception quickly as well!

We have to say that, everyone in the wedding party knows how to make an entrance but I think that Carson probably had the most hyped entrance besides the moment that the Bride and Groom came in to “All the way turnt up”. From here they went straight into their dances which one was a surprise to us with a live performance that was beautifully done. From here everyone ate and we eventually came to the Dollar Dance followed by speeches and cake cutting. There were so many emotional high moments in the speeches that trying to type about that would make this much longer of a blog. After the cake cutting, we came to the start of full on party with the bouquet and garter tosses which had some hilarious moments with Travis playing around during Austin taking the garter off and we got to see who was next in line with the Bouquet and Garter as well. Everyone danced their hearts out for quite a long time and then it was time for last dance and then fake send off with sparklers. I think this may have actually been one of the longest lines for sparklers that we’ve seen so, that was really cool to see and made for a bunch of great photos and then as the night continued for a little while longer, we switched up some things camera wise to match the romantic and slow dancing vibe that took place to give a more vintage and bloomy look to the lighting as we got to see all of the happy couples enjoying their night. It was shortly after that we got to say goodbye to the newlyweds and make our way back to Grovetown. We thoroughly enjoyed the honor of being present at this wedding and are super excited for the future of the Mejias family!

Jeremiah & Amanda

Some of you may remember this sweet couple’s engagement session from last July which you can see here. We originally met Amanda years ago through her Sister’s wedding and it became one of our favorite situations to where we all clicked so well with the whole family that we now had the honor to be a part of her wedding as well and then after meeting Jeremiah and getting to know him a little more in conversation, we realized that he’s hilarious and that we were just going to enjoy their wedding day so much. Not only did it take place at the venue that we got married at, Windsor Manor, they also broke out some amazing surprises like the old school Bentley and we got to work with amazing vendors.

The day started with us meeting up with our third shooter and dropping Logan off with Morgan’s parents then once we arrived at the venue, we talked with Tracy of Tracy Yahn Events who was the planner/coordinator to catch up a little bit and show our third shooter around a bit. When we made our way upstairs we said hey to all of the guys briefly and then said hey to all of the girls as well as gathering the details to photograph them. After photographing the details, we made our way into the getting ready photos where I went with the guys and as the girls were finishing up, we took Jeremiah out to the ceremony area for their first look. As Amanda came out and stood behind him, we all stepped back to let them enjoy their moment as much as possible and it was all smiles the entire time. They are such an adorable and happy couple and their friends and family watching off in the distance enjoyed it so much that they were smiling as well. From here we went to do their group photos with the entire wedding party and a little bit of family that was present at the time for the photos and just a few of Amanda and Jeremiah.

The ceremony started and you could feel the shift and reverence for the moment happen. Everyone was holding back tears of joy for most of the ceremony and it was beautiful to see. Once everyone was in place for the Bride to come, we saw Jeremiah’s Mom crying and Jeremiah himself did a great job of holding back the tears and smiling. As she was standing in front of him ready and they joined hands, there were a lot of moments of joy and laughter as well as holding back tears. After they said their I do’s, they kissed then her sister Sarah handed the flowers over for them to walk back up the aisle together as the Robinsons. From here they celebrated once they made it out of the ceremony space with a kiss and big hug. As we started to get ready for family formals, there was a bittersweet moment of everyone hugging and crying since Jeremiah and Amanda would basically be moving across the states immediately because of him being stationed elsewhere. We didn’t know they were moving yet but it was such a beautiful and heavy thing to witness how close their friends held them and would miss them but everyone switched back pretty quickly to smiling for the photos with those they love. Once we had finished out the full list and a few others, we did some couples portraits around the grounds quickly so that Amanda could have her dress bustled then also change her shoes as we made our way to get ready for the reception.

As the dj announced the wedding party by names, they entered into the reception and formed a line to watch the dances. As the newlyweds danced, they smiled a lot and exchanged laughs. Then the Bride and her Father danced which seemed to bring some tears with it both for the Bride and her Sister which made for beautiful family bond moments to be seen which carried through into the speeches as well. These were filled with fond memories of how they met the couple individually and even more stories from their past. After that moment, it was time for the joyful reception to kick off into dancing. There were a ton of fun moments so it was hard to really put them all into this blog but, know that the photos and videos are there and you will see more of those! Eventually, we came to that moment where they leave and in this case everyone got to blow bubbles at the couple as they exited. Once they got into the Bentley to ride away, there were just a few more hugs and kisses to give as a big last goodbye for now. They rode off towards their honeymoon which would take them to Disney and then a beautiful Cruise as well. We’re honored to have been a part of this perfect day and can’t wait to see what all this amazing couple accomplishes as just seeing them come back to visit as well.

Nick & Jessica

This wedding day was absolutely amazing! Cold and windy, but amazing! It took place at their family farm in Waynesboro where we also happened to have photographed the engagement session which you can see here. Nick and Jessica are such a fun and down to earth couple that we feel like we could easily just hang out and kill time with for hours. There’s so much family that lives on the same road right next to the barn and getting to meet everyone on this day in the place that was full of generations worth of family memories was so special.

The wedding day started pretty similar to most where we meet up with the Bride and her bridesmaids while they’re doing hair and makeup and we start on details. We split up here since the girls were getting ready down the road from the venue but some of the details were at the barn. I drove to the barn while Morgan stayed with the girls and then met back up to have the girls pop open a bottle of Champagne and then showing our third shooter where she needed to go as well afterwards. While we were at the Barn, we photographed the guys and then I left to help cover the finishing touches of Jessica’s dress being buttoned. From there, everyone made their way to the barn to do the girls group photos while the guys were hidden away and before we knew it, it was time for guests to start showing up so the Bride snuck away to hide.

Now that it was time for the ceremony, the guys came out to lineup by the doors setup for the entrances to walking down the aisle. The sun was out in full force but so was the wind with a cold front so a lot of people bundled up with blankets which somehow managed to include our third shooter, Kelsey, who had made friends with some family and been invited to get warm with their blanket as well. As everyone made their way down the aisle, it was all smiles and the warmth of family bonds were shining bright. Once the doors opened, Jessica and her Dad made their way down the aisle to where she would be handed off to her now Husband. They shared vows and there were even some funny moments thrown in by the officiant who was Jessica’s Brother. The location was just gorgeous and we couldn’t imagine a better location for them to have said their I do’s. At the end of the Ceremony, they kissed and made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife and hid away just a little bit to the side before everyone that was staying for family photos went to a spot we had picked just behind the ceremony. We quickly went through all of the lists to get everyone inside but not before getting some great photos of the newlyweds together.

It was now time for the ceremony entrance of the newlyweds into the reception at the Barn. They walked in and went straight into their first dance followed by an emotional Father/Daughter dance and then Mother/Son dance that transitioned to Grandmother/Grandson dance half way through. After this, everyone enjoyed some delicious food and conversation. Before too long, a few tables got moved aside to make space for the dance floor so that it could open up and go into all of the other festivities like the anniversary dance and bouquet/garter toss. Just taking a step outside you could see the fire they had going and all of the children running around playing hide and seek. The night was such an intimate reception where everyone knew everyone and were just enjoying being themselves around each other. We did the sparkler exit and then went back into the reception for a while and our night actually came to an end with just having a fun conversation about the bachelor trip before saying goodbye. It was truly an honor to be a part of this wedding day and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Nick & Jessica!

Daniel & Kylandra

This wedding day at Pine Knoll Farms in Appling, GA was such a beautifully intimate feeling wedding day even for having more people than you would normally consider an “intimate wedding”. Everyone there was basically family, even if not by blood and it showed how fun and loving this couple is just to see their relationships with everyone else.

We had the chance to meet in person with Daniel and Kylandra back in May of 2021 for their engagement session which you can see here. Seeing them surrounded by their best friends and family on the wedding day brought out so much joy in a ton of tiny little moments with a funny joke or excited hug and we were honored to be a part of every minute!

The wedding day started with us arriving and meeting up with our third shooter and then splitting off different directions for the guys and girls with Morgan and I (Jordan) going to the girls first to photograph and video details as well as the girls getting hair and makeup done. Once they got a little further into that process, I went to meet up with Tom and Daniel at the other end of the property while Morgan stayed with the girls. While on the way, I grabbed a few video clips and photos of the property as well and even got to meet the guardians of the property, two Great Pyrenees dogs that were just friendly and enjoying rolling around so all of the groomsmen could pet them. At this point we did all of the Groomsmen’s group photos with Daniel as well as some of Daniel by himself. I then made my way back to the girls as the guys went in to hang out for a while longer while Tom (our third shooter) and I made our way back to the girls. Once they started getting dressed, Tom went to photograph a few more photos with Daniel and some family that finished getting ready. Once everyone on the girls side finished getting dressed, we made our way outside to photograph the Bride and some of her family. Once we finished, she made her way back upstairs to watch the surprise fake first look with one of the groomsmen throwing on his wife’s wedding dress. It made for a hilarious moment and some fantastic photos which made for a perfect moment for everyone to split back up and finish any touch ups or quick changes to get ready for the ceremony.

We made our way to the ceremony to set up our extra camera and figure out all of the angles we were going to cover knowing that the bride was coming in on a horse and carriage. We also got to meet up with our dear friend Gordon who was the DJ and the Officiant, Nick, who we had worked with on another beautiful wedding day later last year. As all of the guests were finding their seats and we got Daniel’s Mic setup for us to pick up good audio for their videos that we would be filming, the ceremony started officially. Everyone walked down the aisle to the music and then the horse and carriage showed up right outside of the courtyard leading into the chapel. Once Daniel saw her, a big smile never left his face and you could see the excitement behind the smile. Once Kylandra made her way to her Husband and was handed off by her Step Father, Curtis, they entered into a beautiful ceremony moment of sharing their own personally written vows and exchanged rings to officially be announced as Husband and Wife and then share a kiss before walking back up the aisle as the Hyman’s with the joy of everyone present surrounding them in the form of clapping and yelling for them. The couple then both rode back to the reception area in the horse and carriage along with the rest of the family to meet up and do all of the family formal photos, full wedding party and then a few couples portraits. We had an amazing sunset to work with for photos by the chapel. We quickly got them back to the reception to eat and be with their guests and even though they were not being announced into the reception, everyone still clapped for them and cheered as they began to walk around and hug their guests.

During the reception, everyone ate delicious food, the newlyweds danced as well as a Father and Daughter dance, cut and ate cake from Hey Honey Cakery (who we absolutely love), then the dance floor opened for everyone. Once everyone got out on the dance floor, they stayed there for a while and a few gathered by the fire outside as well and everyone enjoyed their night in different ways that were amazing in different ways. Without doing a formal exit, we decided to end the night with some backlit photos and a quick night time ring shot knowing that Kylandra loved that type of photo and it felt like it fit perfectly as a sendoff for us to say goodbye. We know that this couple does amazing work and have exciting things ahead that we are excited to see how their story unfolds!
