Brandon & Mackenzie

We got to meet Brandon and Mackenzie back in Jan and learned about their beautiful story as well as more about this wedding day at the Wheeler House in Ball Ground, GA. They met when Mackenzie started trying her hand at bowling in a bowling league and he, as well as three of his groomsmen, were in said league and they started hanging out after practice which then eventually led to him proposing near the water wheel at the univ of North GA where they also go back to picnic at the same spot.

The wedding day started with saying hey as well as doing the details photos while I was getting a good feel for the space and doing venue photos/videos. We got to see fun dance moves from the bridesmaids, dress twirling flower girls and the guys getting ready then taking shots together with their custom shot glasses. We also helped in the exchange of gifts and letters which was fun and is always an emotional moment to read something like that from your almost husband or wife. We then got the last few photos of Mackenzie getting dressed just before doing a first look with her Dad which was super emotional and she even shared a letter and gift with him as well as a first touch with Brandon just before the ceremony. That led straight into getting in place for the ceremony as more and more guests arrived. Once everyone made their way down the aisle, Mackenzie and her Dad were at the top of the aisle and Brandon held back tears a good bit and you could tell they were both so happy and ready for that moment. They shared beautiful vows, their families lit a unity candle and they closed out the ceremony with a kiss as they were pronounced Mr and Mrs Dye. That kicked off Cocktail hour and family formal photos as well as the rest of the wedding party photos and of course romantic photos of the newly weds that ended with having her dress bustled and ready for their first dance.

Once the huge barn doors were slid open and they entered the reception, everyone let out a huge cheer and they went straight into their first dance to Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” followed by the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances. Both of their Dads then gave a toast for the newlyweds that led into some delicious dinner by Events by Dezine. After dinner was done, we went to cut both cakes which was followed by some amazing toasts by the best man and matron of honor which ended by opening the dance floor which filled up pretty quickly. After a good bit of dancing, we snuck away with the couple to grab a few photos with the Rolls-Royce as well as a few by the ceremony area with the romantic streamed lights then they went back in for some more dancing. When it came time to leave, everyone lined up for a sparkler exit as Brandon and Mackenzie shared one last private dance inside then we all exited together for the sparkler exit leading to the exit car. The night ended with everyone chanting as they are all big fans of UGA and then they got into the Rolls-Royce and drove off into the night. We have already loved seeing some of the beautiful things happening in their lives as Mr. and Mrs. Dye like her teaching awards and fun honeymoon photos so, we can only expect more and are so excited for their future together and the Dye family!

Kyle & Jessica

We originally met with Kyle and Jessica back in September via Zoom and learned about when they met in the Army 12 years which first led to the decisive moment of him proposing at Universal Studios which subsequently leads us to this beautiful wedding day at Windsor Manor full of smiles, icing each other, beautiful vows, some great toasts and vivid shades of Jessica’s favorite color, pink.

The wedding day itself started off with us meeting the new venue manager/on sight coordinator, Christine as well as our friend Mallory of Honeycomb Florals to say hey briefly since we arrived early. That then lead straight to us getting into gathering details while saying hey to Jessica and all of her girls, as we were getting into the details downstairs, Kyle also showed up which worked out perfectly for us to grab the rings and a few other things which is where we heard about the first “icing” of the day which is a prank but, we won’t go into the details of that here. Once we finished details, we split up some while I did photo and video of the venue and the girls (Morgan and Bella) worked on getting the dress setup and also getting some of the makeup process taking place. The guys started to finish up getting ready so we got Jessica’s letter and gift for Kyle and set him up to read and open in the more quiet room for video reasons but, he opened a really nice watch and loved it and may or may not have gotten choked up some reading the letters. We then did the same for Jessica after getting photos of everyone in their robes together on the couch and had her read and open her beautiful necklace as well which her Mom came and helped put it on right after. The guys all made their way outside with Bella and I to do their group photos while the girls were getting dressed which then led straight into doing the first look for Jessica and Kyle. Guests started showing up pretty early so, we opted to do the first look inside by the stairs and they shared a beautiful moment just before ceremony time.

The ceremony started off with the groom and groomsmen all coming from the side just after some of the family and that was followed by everyone else coming down the aisle where their kiddos seemed to enjoy their moment coming down too which led straight into Jessica and her Father coming down the aisle. In that moment, Kyle was holding back tears and they were both so happy as she got closer and closer. Once they shared their I-do’s and finished off the ceremony with a kiss, they made their way back up the aisle together as husband and wife with their family and loved ones trailing just behind to the family formals location. Here, they were met with their glasses for a celebratory drink together. We then photographed all of their formal photos and some romantic golden hour couples portraits just before heading into the reception.

As everyone entered into the reception, they were greeted with cheers as the DJ Mike announced them in which was followed with some dance moves by some of them. As the newlyweds came in, everyone cheered and they went straight into their first dance followed by the Father-Daughter dance. The next part included a pasta bar so, you can imagine that we loved that and Delectable Delights knocked it out of the park with the delicious food. As everyone finished up eating, we then went into the loving toasts by both the Best Man and Matron of Honor who are family and had a ton of stories and loving sentiments to share with everyone present. We also cut the cake and then the dance floor opened up where everyone had a blast and a few will for sure make some fun moments in the wedding film with how much they enjoyed the cameras. The night ended with the glowstick exit and cheers of everyone present and we left with a big smile on our faces for how beautiful the day was. We’re excited for their sweet family and know they have a fun adventure ahead with each other!

Matt & Anna

Well, this one is another one close to heart which is crazy that our past 3 blog posts were good friends before. For some perspective, we photographed their best friends’ wedding back in 2017, their whole friend group getting baptized the following year following great loss of their friends and then Matt also went on a mission trip to Haiti with us in 2019. A lot has happened since then that has brought this couple’s family together even still and getting to know we’ve photographed so many big events for their lives is so special but, this day at a friends event property on the Savannah River of course holds such a huge and special place in the list.

The day itself started with us meeting up with Rashelle (our 3rd shooter for the day) and saying hey to everyone. We instantly grabbed details from Anna for photos and I made my way downstairs with the guys for some getting ready photos and once we finished all of those up, we took the dress outside and got to take some adorable photos of their daughters in the dress just before Anna got into the dress as well. As soon as she was in her dress, we got their boys mic’d up and in place for a first look with Anna and honestly the boys are just hilarious in general and their reactions were funny but they still had a loving moment too which then transitioned straight into the next first look with her Step Dad and Brother. It was super sweet and they all shared some great hugs and that was bringing us close to ceremony time but we had one more thing to do which was their first touch right before for them to just hear each other’s voices and say how excited they were. The ceremony started with everyone being driven down the hill on a trailer attached to the back of a truck and once they hopped off the back and formed a line, everyone made their way down the aisle with a few stars of the show being all of the kids and then their flower man/beer passer outer guy. During the ceremony the whole family came up to complete a unity puzzle and they also exchanged some beautiful and personally written vows. After they said their I-do’s and sealed the deal with a kiss. They walked back up the aisle together as the Joyner’s and as they started taking the chairs up to the reception tent, we transitioned into family and wedding party photos leading into their couple’s portraits which fell into Golden Hour perfectly for some gorgeous sunset light.

As everyone prepared to enter into the reception tent, they all planned out what to do. Once they began entering, they all danced or did something as a fun gesture which the finale was Matt and Anna entering in with a twirl into their first dance. That sweet dance was then followed by Anna and her Step Dad sharing a dance and then Matt and his Mom as well. Everyone then went to get some delicious tacos for dinner. As the night rolled around more and the open dance floor was filled, it began turning more and more into a hilarious and fun party for everyone. At one point they took a break and made their way inside to cut the cake and even shared some with their youngest Blakeleigh. From there, it was even more open dance floor, bouquet and garter tosses then the last big formal event was toasts. They had a few that were planned toasts and then a few that weren’t and it’s easily to tell that everyone loves and cherishes the Joyner family so much. They ranged from everyone crying to everyone belly laughing so, I can only imagine how those will turn out for the wedding videos later. We ended our night with them at the sparkler exit by the front porch and streamed lights which worked out perfectly. We love this family and are excited for their future and seeing the kiddos growing up over the years to come!

Curt & Ashley

So I (Jordan) have known Curt for years from us working together for a long time at a dealership together. We always got to enjoy talking about music and fun camera/production type things together when we had a chance. Years later and we have both started beautiful families and when they mentioned having us capture their wedding day, we knew it was going to be an absolute joy full of little Clara smiles and beautiful floral arrangements.

The day started for us with the girls at the ceremony location and we actually bumped into Ashley outside while we were looking around at everything with perfect timing and got to say hey. We then all went upstairs to get details while the girls finished getting their hair and makeup done so I left Morgan and Bella to do the details while I went down the road to the Markey home where the guys were getting ready still. We did just a few photos there of them getting ready and then I made my way back to the girls just in time for photos of the dress and the girls finishing up hair and makeup. Upon finishing hair and makeup, we photographed some more details outside and helped get the guys boutonnieres pinned on and their group photographs completed. Once Ashley finished getting into her absolutely beautiful dress, we got some last few photographs and gave her a moment to facetime with her mother who was not able to travel for health reasons. Shortly after that, some more family came into the room for some impromptu first looks that were incredibly beautiful moments that we’re honored to have been a part of.

The backyard oasis of a ceremony kicked off beautifully all the way through Curt giving his Mom a kiss. Anyone who knows Curt and Ashley would suspect that that changed up a little bit just after he did that with it switching to Outcast’s “So fresh, so clean” as the guys put on sunglasses and Curt added a little extra swagger to his step going up. It’s completely in character and was a fun little transition between songs to accompany the rest of his walk. As Ashley came out accompanied by her Father in law, everyone stood up and from what we could tell, were all either crying or smiling ear to ear. It’s such a beautiful moment and we could tell that it would be by the tears flowing in the room earlier when Ashley asked to be walked by her Father in law. During the ceremony, the exchanged beautiful vows which will probably translate into the video better than if I typed them here or anything but, the whole thing was incredibly beautiful and full of both tears and laughter. After they said their I do’s and sealed it with a kiss, they threw their hands up in the air together in an adorable and happy moment before they walked back around together as Mr. and Mrs. Markey. It was then time for family formals which we decided on doing in the front/side yard because of the even lighting and beautiful greenery background. We managed to time Clara’s nap pretty well and she came out near the end of the photos in a great mood and we got to take a ton of photos of them all together. As we made our way back to the reception time in the back yard, the food was blessed and a small speech was given. After everyone ate their fill of tacos, we then made our way to cut the cake. Also, to explain the custom cake toppers, they were representative of Curt, Ashley and Clara and fit perfectly with the garden the flower themes. Shortly after they cut the cake and fed each other, there was a beautiful speech given by the best man Mark. Ashley and Curt shortly after also shared their first dance as husband and wife which was then followed by open dance floor for a while. Before we left, we also got to take some more couples portraits by the beautiful brick wall and gate into the neighbors yard which then led us to how we ended our night, Smores! We’re so excited for Curt, Ashley and Clara and honored to have been a part of this beautiful day marking the start of the next chapter in their lives together.
