Cody & Baylee

6-27-2020

We had the honor of meeting up and photographing Cody and Baylee for their engagement session back in January and even before then we knew that they would have a fun wedding but, that day solidified that we absolutely adored this couple and their silly antics together! Jump ahead a little to their wedding day back around the part of Georgia where I grew up (Wrightsville), I got to show Morgan and Tom (Our third shooter typically) around the area just a little bit throughout the day as we started out at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen, Ga. We started as we typically do by saying hey to the girls and starting on details quickly and then I split off during that to get things ready for the ceremony as well. Once the girls were ready and we started their individual photos with Baylee the emotions started flowing and everything became real and it was such a sweet moment between her and her bridesmaids. Fast forward a little and the guys were hitting each other with pink teddy bears inside the church and playing the Organ (turns out Cody is pretty talented and his groomsmen were all hilarious).

Everything went off without a hitch for the ceremony and then we hop into Sandersville for the reception at the Pringle Building and sneak some couples photos right before in the downtown square. As you will see in some of the photos below, we had them walking in one area and come to find out, they had their first date at the mexican restaurant that we took photos in front of so we even took a few with the fluorescent lights there. Sometimes things like that happen around small town weddings where there’s a cute story around every corner for the couple and everything has meaning to them and we can’t help but eat it up and get a little mushy. One of the perks of our job sometimes is feeling special in the sense that we get to be the last ones the congratulate them and wish them safe travels for their honeymoon right after the exit (which they were covered with confetti while going down the stairs) they said some really sweet things to us and then exited the building just as happy as can be and sometimes moments like that aren’t even something that can be captured fully but are amazing to experience with our couples. Thank you Cody and Baylee for being amazing and making us laugh pretty much the whole day with you. We look forward to seeing the life you just started together unfold as you continue #makingamessex

You might ask yourself, what can I do on my wedding day if there’s some extra time between venue availability and one great answer is to hop on a party bus with all of your wedding party and head to the bowling alley to bowl on some private lanes. It’s not often that you get to see a bride put on bowling shoes but, it’s also not often that you have a couple like this who met on stage as the lead roles and fell in love off stage too! There are a lot of moments on this wedding day that were far from the usual such as them finishing the first dance and throwing on jackets to dance and sing “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease or that when given the chance to photograph in the actual museum during the reception, you say okay now do “Singing in the Rain” with the light pole as a posing que.

Charles and Emily were a delight from the start when we met over Coffee and knew that we would enjoy the wedding day. Saint Teresa of the Avila is such a gorgeous catholic church in the Grovetown area and with all the interesting changes brought of by Covid-19, it was still perfect and they had room to have a decent sized wedding and we loved that. Shortly after the ceremony and family photos inside, we got to hang out a little and take some couples photos while we waited for the party bus to arrive. We hopped on the bus once it arrived and everyone commenced to laugh, take photos and even make a toast among themselves. We arrived and checked in at the bowling alley and I couldn’t event remember the last time I had been there so, needless to say, everything looked wayyy different and the private lanes were great and they announced the happy couple over the intercom which was unexpected and a lot of fun to see their reactions. Morgan and I left just a little before they did at the bowling alley to get ahead over the museum to photograph and film the details there before it got busy and packed and so we could get them arriving to the reception and we got to meet Bryan (Dr Vac - the DJ) and a few guests around the tables which was a great experience. Come time for them to arrive and dance their way off the bus and then into the reception where the dances began which we already talked about but, they also had some surprise guests where Emily’s parents were both dancing with her at one point and then Charles’ dad danced with his mother and then Charles stole the dance half way in which seemed to surprise her a little and was so sweet to see. The rest was history at the Augusta museum of History as they danced the night away and we said goodbye but, we found ourselves heading home and talking about how much fun that wedding day was and that there were a lot of surprises around every corner. We were honored to be a part of Charles and Emily’s big day and now that they have tied the knot officially, we cannot wait to see what’s next!

Cody & Audrey Elopement Session

5-23-2020

In these uncertain times, a lot of weddings have been rescheduled but there is still this beautiful trend of people saying that they won’t have their joy taken for the day and they elope. In some cases such as this one they are miles and miles away from family and do just a meaningful little place like this spot just off the Bike Trail along the river here in Augusta that they have passed so many times on walks with their dogs and just fell in love with. When we heard that, we knew we were going to get some exercise and it would be completely worth all 30 minutes of the walk to get there. By the time we were there, we had already gained new friends with Audrey and Cody and knew that this was special. She made her own cute bouquet and everything was just perfect. They will be holding their more traditional wedding ceremony next year out of state with their families but, we are so ecstatic that we got to be a part of them tying the knot.
