Matt & Kirsten’s Wildflower 301 Wedding

Halfway between Augusta and Atlanta on the national star wars holiday of may 4th, matt & kirsten’s wedding day was dreamy in so many ways. there were many classic touches and surprise little star wars winks hidden throughout. the wedding day itself was perfect and started off with everyone getting ready as we arrived to then do details. kirsten opened some of her gifts and continued to get into her beautiful dress as matt and his guys were in the whiskey room finishing up tying ties. once they were both ready, we set up around the ceremony area with matt to do a first look and private vows which also brings me to another point for this day. there happened to be a new brood of cicadas apparently and it was really loud which you can hear in the film at the beginning during their vows. From there, we did some formal photos and prepared for the ceremony which was inside due to the threat of rain that day. The ceremony was beautiful and had their corgis as a part of it as well as small little star wars trinkets hidden throughout the decor. Once they said their I do’s and kissed, they made their way out as husband and wife which dismissed to cocktail hour around the courtyard and patio. While that was happening, we went to the original ceremony location for family photos and some more formals afterwards. They then went to cocktail hour for a bit as the band made some final touches and we captured the reception space. Once it was time to announce them in, of course, they were announced by princess leia and storm troopers guarding the doors. They then went into their first dance and father daughter, mother son dances before being escorted back to their table by the storm troopers for dinner. from then on, it was basically a huge party where the band led with a bunch of fun songs. eventually, deep into the party of the night, we did a fake sparkler send off once the rain stopped and before too many people left. it was super funny and they laughed even through an accidental drop during a dip kiss and the sparkler line was ended by lightsabers as well which followed them running back inside and dancing the night away. it was such a joyful day and we loved being a part of every minute!
