We met Dakota and Dustie back in October and hit it off hearing about their stories and some of the super fun/interesting parts of their story like their best friends being how they met and now their best friends are also engaged. Talk about doing life together right? We also heard a little about the gorgeous picture painted of the proposal at St. Helena Island in South Carolina on the Beach at Sunrise. This engagement session itself was a lot of fun and ended with us getting rained on if you look closely at the last few photos and we had already rescheduled once from rain but, I think it added something extra beautiful and even more story to the session. We cannot wait to tell more of their story next Fall with their wedding day at Pine Knoll!
Brandon & Melissa Engagement Session
We met with Brandon and Melissa back near the very beginning of Fall and then in the process of planning the engagement session, everyone decided on trying some photos at the fair which sounded like a super fun time with some different photos than we’d normally have. We showed up early on the day and did some photos during the day time and they even let us on a ride by ourselves and then as it got closer to time for everything to run and it get dark enough for the lights to show, we had walked around and planned what all we wanted to do but started over by the games where Brandon won a small prize and gave it to a little boy right next to us which was super sweet and the boy was so excited. From there, we did another game then some photos by the bumper cars and then the sun was low enough to try some photos on the swings. I knew it could be done but, boy was I dizzy for a second when we started since I was looking backwards but there was a gorgeous sunset and some great photos of them laughing and holding on Melissa’s hat which just helped tell another story even in the photos. From there, it was time for the real reason most people go to the fair, the food! We decided to start with cotton candy since they wouldn’t be getting their actual dinner until later but it made for some cute and funny photos with minimal messiness. About that time, we ran into Melissa’s old teacher that inspired her to be the teacher she is today which was a lot of fun. Then, we made our way to the main Ferris Wheel and had some trouble getting on together but still ended up with some absolutely beautiful sunset photos. Once we were done with that, we went to get some of the fries that were their favorite and there I ran into some really good friends as well. We then did a few photos while they were eating the fries and then a few photos in front of the ride (I cannot remember the name of this one but it’s glowing blue in the photos). We then ended the session with a few more photos in front of the Ferris Wheel and on the backside of the fair by a ride called Fighter where there were a ton lights in the background which really did some beautiful things with the lens filter I had on. Now it was time to end the session and them to find what they wanted to eat for dinner before leaving as well so we talked for a just a minute and then split off to go our separate ways. This was such a fun and unique engagement session, we cannot wait for their wedding day next November!

Matt & Anna Engagement Session
We have known these two for a while and have even had seasons of doing life together pretty closely with Matt so, when they reached out, we were so excited to get to reconnect and be able to tell and be a part of their story. It’s so sweet to see their little family together and even early in the planning process, we know this will be a beautiful wedding day next year.
Grant & Chasity Engagement Session
We loved getting to meet this sweet couple in person and getting to talk a little bit of parent stuff as well as wedding stuff and learning more about them and their interests is one of the things that we love about engagement sessions. Getting to know our couples before the wedding day is such a fun and needed process that helps us to see some moments through their eyes a little more on the wedding day and notice moments more. We originally met them via Zoom back in September where we also got to know some of their story about how they met back in High School and then got engaged back in 2019 by the Savannah River. Also, how he likes to do outdoor things like hunting and fishing while she mentioned spending time with her Mom and shopping are high on her list which already paints a beautiful picture of their family and story and we cannot wait to tell even more of their story come the beautiful wedding day in Fall of 2023!
