Marcus & Lilly

We had a great chance to meet with Marcus and Lilly a while ago and already having mutual friends through their church family, when we did their engagement session came around (which you can see here), we already had a kinship and it made for an amazing session. That only transferred and made the wedding day even more laid back and fun! This beautiful wedding day took place between two different locations. It was our first time visiting at Warren Baptist Church and then the other location we have been to a lot, the Savannah Rapids Pavillion.

The day started with the girls in Evans where we did details and photographed them getting ready then split where I went to photograph the guys down the road for a little bit of getting ready with them before returning back to the girls to help with the reveal with the bridesmaids. Once the girls turned around and saw Lilly, they screamed with joy and then Lilly hit them with a hands in the hidden dress pockets twirl and they ran in to hug her making for an amazing moment. We then got her Dad and brought him out facing the other way to setup for their first look which turned into a beautiful and emotional moment once they hugged and we could tell he was fighting back tears. They finished their moment and took a few photos together and then we left to meet up with everyone at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion for the Bride and Groom’s first look and some group photos. Once we had Marcus setup, Lilly made her way out to him and tapped him on the shoulder for him to turn around. He had a huge smile on his face and they shared a sweet hug before heading down the stairs to meet up with the rest of the wedding party for group photos. Once we finished the group photos, we also did a few couples photos with Marcus and Lilly followed by us splitting up to meet back up at the church. Once everyone made it inside at Warren, we had a few minutes still of guests arriving and so Morgan and I took our places once the doors started shutting. It was split into the two aisles of the chapel so Morgan and I split up the aisles to get everyone coming down and then once it was Lilly’s turn, Morgan focused on Marcus as I photographed the Bride and her Father coming down the aisle at the same time. From here I went upstairs and Morgan stayed in the back of the chapel and we captured different angles of the ceremony where they prayed, took communion, exchanged rings and vows then finished off with their first kiss as husband and wife. They had so much joy on their face as they went back up the aisle together (they pretty much always have a ton of joy anyways but this was especially joyful). From here, we went to the prayer garden on the other side of the church grounds for the family formals and a few other couples portraits before driving to the reception at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion.

The reception was already full and felt like twice the amount of people than were at the ceremony somehow but we captured the details as everyone lined up to make their entrance and in just a matter of minutes everyone was dancing their way into the reception. Everyone had something funny for their entrance but there’s so many photos that it just didn’t make sense to blog them all here. Once they made it to their table, the food was blessed and in the next photo you see the toasts starting. Everyone’s toasts had such a different vibe and funny stories throughout so it was a lot of fun to hear and set a great tone for the rest of the reception. It was then time to do the dances where they had their first dance and at one point burst into laughter which was hard to not have a huge smile on your face seeing them having so much fun. They also did a Father/Daughter dance and Mother/Son dance before the cake cutting and then the dance floor opening up more. Right after the cake cutting, the first song that started playing had literally everyone singing. By the time the second song came on, I am pretty sure that maybe 8 people tops were still at their table instead of the dance floor which made for probably the most full dance floor we have ever seen, especially at the Rapids. Since everyone was dancing, the DJ setup a couples dance to see who had been married the longest. This is always one of our favorites to see and they even gave the winners a beautiful bouquet of flowers. From this point on was just pure party and fun whether it be forming a line going around the entire building, lifting their hands up and yelling “shout”, throwing the bouquet and even a bunch of fun line dances. They ended off the night with a super fun streamer exit and hopped into their SUV to drive off into the night as Mr. and Mrs. Taylor.

Patrick & Michelle Destination Wedding

Here is a great example of what to do when your wedding day has to change due to a pandemic! They had their closest friends and family go to Saint Simons for a gorgeous destination wedding and will have their full wedding day and party with more guests next year as they had originally intended and it’s what dreams are made of!

We drove down the night before and stayed in a hotel to wake up early and go to the King and Prince Resort where Michelle was getting ready on site in the Wesley Cottage. We were there for the last few touches and then she hopped into her dress to go meet her soon to be groom for their first look on the beach. It was just down the sidewalk so we made our way over and I (Jordan) ran ahead to get Patrick in place on the beach without them seeing each other. Once we all got out there, we set them up and let them have their moment of seeing each other for the first time all dressed up for the wedding and it was so cute. Not to mention it was gorgeous beach surrounding them which made our job a lot easier. Once they let us know they were ready to take some of their couples photos, we hopped straight into a few poses and some fun ideas that we had talked about beforehand. We explored a few more ideas for photos on the way to the venue and then got them back inside to cool off before the ceremony started.

The ceremony music starts and everyone walks the aisle to beautiful worship music and ocean waves in the background. Then the bride walks out and everyone stands to see her and the groom’s father walking from a different different door and making their way to the aisle. Patrick had a huge smile on his face watching his bride come down the aisle and once they were their, both of their mothers read scripture out loud followed by a few words and then the symbolic pouring of sand into a vase that they would keep as a reminder of God’s place in their marriage. They then exchanged their vows and rings surrounded by palm trees and their loved ones tying the knot and the sealing it with a kiss. They were finally announced as husband and wife and made their way back up the aisle hand in hand to go straight over into their first dance with everyone surrounding them. We have to admit that not enough first dances are done with the beach in the background. As they finished up their beautiful dance, everyone cheered and we hopped straight into photos with everyone and everyone had fun with it and we finished up fairly quickly and let everyone else go back inside to cool off as we ran all around the resort with Patrick and Michelle to take some more photos before we left to drive back home. There is no shortage of gorgeous areas in the resort to take photos and we had so much fun running around with them. We ended our time with them by having them repeat their dance one more time in this stunning room full of symmetry and gorgeous columns on both sides of them. After they did their last dip kiss, we headed out for them to go to their reception back at the Wesley Cottage where the day started and we congratulated them and started our drive back home. We are so excited for this happy couple and to see what their marriage and ministries will produce in the future. Not to mention part 2 of the wedding next year!

Joel & Lauren

Where do we even start with this wedding day? I suppose first is to say that Joel and Lauren complement each other so much and that seeing these two families coming together was one of the most fun parties and experiences to witness as Lauren is apparently amazing at making playlists to make everyone dance and enjoy themselves. The wedding day itself took place at Perry’s Landing in Hephzibah, GA right on the Waynesboro, GA line basically. The day was partially rainy but kept none of the magic from happening but does explain the amount of porch photos in some of the earlier part of the day and it just doesn’t appear near as rainy as it was.

We met Joel and Lauren a while ago but got to meet up with Lauren more recently for her Bridal Session at Pendleton King Park and get to know some of her family along with her better which made for a super fun session but also gave us an even better foundation for starting the Wedding Day off on a great foot with comfort and fun so we got to swing in and say hey to the girls and do some quick photos in their robes and then do all of the detail photos as well as film their letter readings in the midst of getting ready. Once everything was done and they were dressed, that was about when the rain started so we set up the first look on the front porch of the house that everyone gets ready in on the Perry’s Landing property. We also brought their adorable dog Finn (I think that’s how you spell it at least) for some photos with them and also had to show off Joel’s cool socks with Finn’s face on them. They also had buried a bottle of bourbon on the property and dug it up so we had everyone gather around on the porch to take a quick shot and celebrate and about the time we were finishing up with those photos we also had the fun plot twist of the venue losing power due to the storm but it had also stopped raining so, they were working on getting a generator going for the ceremony just in case and we made our way to set up for the ceremony as well. Right as the wedding party started making their way to the ceremony, the power turned back on luckily and everything stayed on schedule perfectly.

Once the ceremony started, everyone made their down the aisle of greenery, which is one of our favorite parts of Perry’s Landing, and we didn’t know it but Marty Baker from Stevens Creek Church was officiating and I knew him from when I used to play drums at Stevens Creek so it was cool to work with him. Once Joel was in place and everyone came down the aisle, Lauren and her Dad came down the aisle together. Joel held it together pretty well both times of seeing her but was super happy but, the same cannot be said for Lauren’s Sisters and family which was so sweet to see. The ceremony was beautiful and they exchanged personal vows which will probably show up in the highlight film some but there’s was a lot of crying and laughing on both sides of the aisle. Once the final phrase, you may kiss your bride, was uttered, they shared a kiss and made their way back up the aisle as the Pabon’s and full of joy. From here, we hopped into family photos and full wedding party in a different location besides the porch a little bit which didn’t take too long and then a few with Joel and Lauren around the property to quickly get them back to the reception to be announced in and start the party.

The reception began officially when the wedding party was all announced in and they did some fun dance moves then formed a line for the newlyweds to run through before going into their first dance. They shared a beautiful first dance and then we transitioned into prayer for the dinner that was prepared and everyone started working on getting their food. We also privately did their cake cutting and popped some bubbly for a quick toast and moment before the rest of the reception as a quick pause moment. Once everyone finished eating, we started back with where we left off and did the Father-Daughter dance and Mother-Son which then transitioned into another song and picked up to bring everyone else out on the dance floor. From here, there were so many funny and smaller moments that I don’t even know how to type them all but the photo and video probably shares those moments better than anything else could. At one point in the reception we got to catch up with another one of our favorite couples from May of last year who actually recommended us to Joel and Lauren and it was so great to see them happy and in love on the dance floor again. You would think that at some point the party turned down for a little bit but, no it actually just kept getting turned up more and more and it was so much fun to see what songs and moments brought everyone out to the dance floor. At one point, the wedding party devised a plan to charge the dance floor and start throwing the couple in the air which was a ton of fun and unexpected. They then got into some more of the formal moments like the bouquet and garter tosses which were followed by a game for the two that caught them both to have the guy move the garter up her leg until she said stop which we hadn’t seen before but turned out to be a ton of fun and full of crowd reactions around the circle. We then had the crowd line up and get ready for the fake sparkler send off which went perfectly and we even got to make an extra pass while the sparklers were still going and we then followed the couple back into the tent so they could share a private last slow dance moment together while everyone else was still putting out sparklers and then making their way slowly back to the tent to realize what was happening. As that dance finished, everyone else came to join them again on the dance floor and I would say the big ending of the night for us was when they started playing one of their favorite Clemson Tiger’s Marching Band classics and breaking out their Clemson flags to celebrate together. We got to give them a hug and say bye as they continued to enjoy their party but we know that great things are ahead for this sweet couple and we’re excited to see what that holds now that they just got back from their Honeymoon in Hawaii!

Patrick & Michelle Vow Renewal

This might be one of the first times we’re posting a vow renewal where we got to be a part of their wedding day as well and in this case, it was a gorgeous destination wedding day in Saint Simons. This beautiful vow renewal was full of sweet moments and their story of immense loss that made some of the stories of great wins and ministry even since they’ve been married made for quite a crazy emotional rollercoaster of a day that was just full of beauty. The day took place between First Presbyterian church and The Old Medical College both in Downtown Augusta, GA.

We started by meeting up with our third shooter and one of the coordinators then hopping right into details. As we finished up with details, we all split up to the opposite ends of the church where the guys and girls were to capture all of the getting ready moments and beautiful prayers that were shared at both ends. As everyone finished getting ready, we took both sides of the party outside really quick separately and then met up to set up the first look at the front of the church in the middle. We did this first look a little bit differently where Patrick opened the front doors and came out to see her and came down to his Wife in her new beautiful dress. From here we did as many of the Formals that we could before the ceremony started with the family that we had present and the Wedding Party as well. Then it was time for them to hide away for a while and prepare for the Ceremony where we were all upstairs to photograph the ceremony besides a few shots from the ground floor but, we absolutely loved seeing the congregation singing together and the vocalists and musicians were super talented and helped make the whole tone of the ceremony so beautiful. As they exchanged their renewal vows, they kissed and came back up that aisle again being able to share with so many friends and family that they weren’t able to at their original wedding day that was during earlier time where Covid restrictions were a lot higher. From here, we hopped into the family formal photos and then made our way to the reception as everyone was dismissed to prepare for their entrances for the reception at the Old Medical College.

Now that the Bride had been bustled and everyone had made their way to a seat, the DJ announced in the entire wedding party where they were met with cheers of joy. Once Patrick and Michelle came in with a huge cheering crowd, they made their way to the dance floor to share in a beautifully choreographed dance. That was then followed by a Brother and Sister dance as well as Mother/Son. After this, everyone sat down and enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by one Silver Palm Catering whom we have always loved working with. After everyone had finished their food for the most part, we took Patrick and Michelle out for some sunset photos with gorgeous light to work with before going back in for the Cake cutting and toasts. These toasts were all so heartfelt and we cannot describe how touching the stories and descriptions of their closest friends were but, there were definitely some tear filled eyes in the place. As those wrapped up, it was then time for everyone to go down stairs for the rest of the party which was kicked off with the bouquet and garter tosses then the lights went out and the music was cranked up. They hit a ton of the classics and have so much fun with new things and some of the props from the photo booth even making it to the dance floor made for some absolutely hilarious moments. Joy filled the entire room for the rest of the night and it was a ton of fun to witness. As the night was coming to an end, we went outside for their sparkler exit leading to the Cadillac that they would be picked up and taken to the last part of the party for the night where everyone would meet up with them. They walked through the sparklers surrounded by their loved ones and it honestly was a perfect way to leave the place. We’ve already loved seeing some of the growth and change in just the short amount of time they were married and know that as the years go by, this marriage will become even stronger and shine brighter to those around.
